Our termite control services depend on the species of termite found when doing our termite inspection. Also, termite control services differ based on the severity of the infestation.
First, we identify the termite species. Each species of termite includes drywood termite, subterranean termite, and dampwood termite. Specifically, they have their precise habits and habitats. Therefore, the way we treat each termite problem differently. To identify your species of pest, call us to schedule an appointment. Or visit our Wood Destroying Insect Identification page for more information about the termites we eliminate.
Most indicators go unnoticed until significant damage is present. In Southern California alone, termites cause millions of dollars of damage to structures. Signs That You May Have A Termite Infestation
- Little piles of pellets (sometimes portrayed as sawdust)
- Visible pin-sized hole in walls or woodwork
- Damaged wood that appears to have buckled or bubbling paint that sounds hollow when tapped
- Discarded wings of swarming termites. Commonly found in the attic, window sills, and in and around light fixtures
- Swarming Termites –Most commonly during Spring and Fall seasons. If you only see a few of these, they most likely came in from outside. However, if the swarm is coming from inside the structure, you usually see a vast amount.
- Mud Tubes – If you see anything resembling mud tubes inside or around the structure, call us immediately. Unfortunately, this could indicate subterranean termites and cause structural destruction very quickly.
We use traditional chemical barrier treatments to control subterranean termites. Barrier treatments are applied to the most effective areas to eliminate infestation. Termiticides may be used and need to be reapplied before the problem is eliminated.
We use a baiting system, where mild termiticide is placed on enticing foods for termites. Like tasty cardboard and wood. The slow-releasing substance is taken back to the nest where it is lethal to termites. This method is less hazardous to the environment because there are less chemicals used compared to chemical barrier treatments.
Termites burrow and hide, and if there is a lot of wood in your home or business, termites could be hiding practically everywhere. In extreme cases and for large infestations, tenting and fumigation is required to ensure that all termite breeding nests are eliminated throughout your entire living space.
