General Pest Control Services

A-1 Bonded Termite is a small, family-owned business that keeps Southern California pest-free. We have been performing general pest control services for over 40 years. During that time, we have become experts in eliminating pests from your home and perfecting techniques for keeping them out. Schedule a FREE inspection* and consultation with our pest experts and see for yourself how knowledgeable and professional they are.

What We Do

We thoroughly inspect the problem areas of your property. Often, pest problems can occur from unforeseen entry points and unintentional lures within your property. A gap in your foundation, a leaky pipe, or an unsealed food container could all be reasons why your property became infested. The best remedy to a pest problem is a proper assessment of the situation. The size of your property, the type of pest, the location of the infestation(s) and the severity of the infestation(s) will all help determine the correct way to tackle your unique pest problem.

Recommendations for General Pest Control Treatment

When performing general pest control it is best to conduct ongoing, routine maintenance. We recommend ongoing preventative services to keep pests away. Pests far outnumber humans, and without follow up visits, pests WILL find their way back into your home. However, with ongoing A-1 general pest control services – we GUARANTEE that pests will stay out of your interior. Plus, we provide warranties on our fumigation, local treatments, and wood repair services.

Our Pest Control Experts

Our pest professionals at A-1 Bonded Termite are experts in their field. A-1 provides rigorous training in all pest control methods, pest maintenance, and wood repair from pest damage. When completing our training and certification, our technicians are licensed and insured to work on the interior and exterior of residential and commercial properties. Also, our pest technicians are courteous and respectful. We listen to your needs and treat homeowners, business owners, and property managers right. Because of this, A-1 Bonded Termite has over 25,000 satisfied customers since 1976.

“I was given an upfront assessment (no upselling or pressure). All reps with this company were honest and courteous with me. I was grateful for the patience they showed me when we had to move our furniture around. Since they came over the pests are gone, and I am just left with a lasting impression of perfect customer service. Thanks again for everything!”

The Pests Covered in Our General Pest Control Service

Not an insect, but a crustacean, amphipods are more like sowbugs (roly-polys.) Found around ivy, eucalyptus trees, and damp grassy areas. They appear when it rains and take over your garden with a healthy appetite. Also known as the lawn shrimp, these little pests take over areas that can be overwhelming. For instance, amphipods enjoy the water and will infest your dog and cats’ water bowls. Pools also get hit with these pests as well. It is crucial to have any treatment performed by professionals. Improperly treating, either over-treating or under-treating, will not take care of the infestation. A-1 Bonded Termite, Inc. cares about you, your family, and your pets.

(excludes carpenter ants)

Ants can spread over 30 diseases such as Salmonella and E.Coli. It is necessary to take care of ants in your house before your family and pets become ill.

Ants are silent and infestations can go unnoticed within walls and floorboards.  In some cases, without a professional inspection, an ant infestation may not be noticeable until the smell of a large colony beginning to die off. On the other hand, if just one Odorous House Ant gets in the house, smashing it will immediately make it smell like rotting coconuts.

This predator-insect seeks out cockroaches and termites. Seeing centipedes in your house can be a sign of a massive problem. House centipedes, typically found in damp and dark places, will spend most of their lives inside buildings.

Getting a bite from a house centipede is painful, so please use caution and do not handle them. Glue traps work great in catching them without going through the trouble of running after them.

Cockroaches enjoy walking over mold, rotting food, and waste. After making contact with bacteria, they spread germs onto any food in the house they touch. The lifespan of a cockroach is from one to six months, and the reason you might find so many dead around. Both the American and Oriental are around one inch in size and considered “bigger” cockroaches that infest homes and businesses.

Two of the most common types of crickets found in Southern California are the House Crickets and Field Crickets. Finding House Crickets in basements and bathrooms are the popular spots for these invaders. While crickets are not dangerous, females do have a stinger, so please use caution while handling them.

We know just having just one noisy cricket loose in your home is reason enough to contact A-1 Bonded Termite, Inc. But crickets breed quite quickly, so it is best to call at the first sign of a cricket infestation.

Earwigs pincers make up to a third of their entire body length.  While these pincers are intimidating, earwigs are not as harmful as they look. Earwigs are happier in the garden where there is plenty of aphids and mites to eat. If you see more then a couple of earwigs, it is time to see if there is an entry point leading them in and what they are feeding on. Sealing up cracks to the home with the help of a barrier treatment will prevent further earwig infestations.

You can find millipedes living happily in your garden in your mulch, and they do not seem to cause problems being outside. But during a rainy season, they will try to find shelter, and homes become overrun with millipedes. In Southern California, there are bulb millipedes, greenhouse centipedes, and common millipedes. Millipedes are not known to bite, but can irritate your skin and eyes if they release fluid on you. Do not handle millipedes without rubber gloves. Call A-1 Bonded Termite, Inc. if you need help removing millipedes.

The more humid and warm your house is, the higher the chance of seeing more silverfish. Damp areas such as the laundry room and bathroom need the most silverfish treatments. Silverfish are not harmful to humans but are a nuisance pest that consumes your linens and paper.

Sow Bugs

These crustaceans are the least harmful on the list of General Pest Control pests, but they are a nuisance if your home is overrunning with them. They like damp and dark areas and do not need much to live off of and will eat just about anything like dirt, crumbs, dust, and debris. Seeing one or two in your basement could be the sign of many more. Call for an inspection, and we will find the primary source of your sow bug problem.

Chilean and dessert recluse spiders, brown and black widow spiders, and yellow sac spiders are venous. You will need emergency attention if you are showing symptoms of a recent bite. Bites from most spiders will cause discomfort and sometimes headaches, stomach pains, and muscle cramping. Do not try to handle a spider, especially if you are unsure of the species.

Barrier treatments will help keep out spiders during the rainy season when they are looking for dry shelter. Visible spiders are a sign of other pest problems, as most spiders feed solely on other living insects. Call A-1 Bonded Termite, Inc. if you see spiders, and we will check for other insects that might be nearby.

Wasps and 1st-Story Wasp Nest Removal

Wasps only travel between 300 to 1000 yards from their home. So if you go outside and see a wasp, the nest is somewhere close. They are finding food and bringing it back to the workers, queen, and all of her larvae.

Do not try to remove the wasp nest, especially if you have never done so before. If one wasp alerts the colony to go into defensive-mode, the attack is quick, concentrated, and painful. Multiple wasp stings can be fatal even if you are not allergic, so please be very careful around their nest. Also, if you see the start of a nest-building, contact A-1 Bonded Termite, Inc. to have the wasp nest removed.

A wasp nest under construction. It is best to call and have the nest removed before the colony becomes bigger and more hazardous.

Don’t forget, A-1 Bonded Termite, Inc. also offers services for Bed Bugs, Bees or Wasps, Cockroaches (German or Brown Banded), Fleas, Pantry Pests, and Rodent Control with our Specialty Pest Control. See our Specialty Pest page for details.

Treating your pests at the first signs can help save money. In saying that, letting an infestation go on too long will destroy the food in your home, irritate your family and pets, or an allergic reaction could occur.

Ongoing Pest Control Options

Monthly Service

We offer a monthly service to customers to our customers who require extra attention to their pest needs. This could be because of location, or personal preference, or severe infestations.

Bi-Monthly Service

Our most popular and best value service is our Bi-Monthly service, providing pest control to our customer every other month. This frequency is ideal for most households with mild to moderate pest infestations and desire year-round coverage against common pest infestations.

Quarterly Service

We offer quarterly service to customers who have mild pest infestations and still want control. We provide quarterly service every three months (or four times/year. ) This service is not sufficient for everyone but we offer this cycle for customers that require minimal pest maintenance. If more frequent service is needed, your technician will advise you.

One-Time Service

A-1 Bonded Termite offers one-time service to customers who wish to have pest-control services done sparingly or annually and do not require year-round protection. One-time services have a 30-day warranty on the identified, targeted pests.

All frequencies include notification prior to service, removing cobwebs from exterior eaves, windows and doors. Callbacks are included at no charge if the customer sees a recurrence of the covered pests.

We will get back to you within the next business day.
