TICKS

These tiny arachnids require blood to complete their life cycle.  There are over 800 spiecies of tick in the world, but only 2 are known to transmit diseases to humans.  Unfortunalyty those two types are quite common in woods and easily transmittedto human on contact.

PEST HABITAT

Found throughout US, ticks live in leaves, gutters, tall grasses and bushes.  To survive they need blood of other animals, typically feeding of mammalian wildlife and often on our pets.

Stay away from outdoor areas where ticks thrive during April to September. 

Removal of litter and brush from areas that ticks may make their home may reduce exposure to ticks.
